Name: Kuruto Ryuki
Canon: AI: The Somnium Files, Nirvana Inative.

Summary: Kuruto Ryuki is a sci fi supercop with ~problems~. The newest dream diving mind reading recruit at the Tokyo’s metropolitan police’s “Advanced Brain Squad” (ABIS). Ryuki has high aspirations to be a hero of justice and go after the worst kind of criminals. He’s mild mannered and polite, with a gentle personality and an eccentric worldview. Ryuki has few friends, but is generally well liked. He is partnered with Tama, a sexy sadomasochist artificial intelligence who lives in his eyeball…they get along great. Kind of married to her ngl.

He’s also been in a near state of mental collapse since his twin brother died when he was 16, spurring an undisclosed mental breakdown that manifested itself in strange behavioral tics and occasional delusional episodes. Ryuki’s issues only worsened when at 23, he was assigned a case that began to erode his sense of reality. He began suffering dissociative episodes that he refused to acknowledge, and pushed himself to the brink. It ended with him betraying his superior officer to save Tama.
At 29, the reopening of the Half Body serial killings caused Ryuki to have another mental breakdown, this time kickstarting a delusional belief he’s still 23 and investigating the case for the first time.
Powers/abilities
-Gun Fu: As stupid as it sounds. Ryuki can do cool parkour gun flips and has a variety of insanely annoying QTE’s in game where he shows them off.
Cybernetic eye: With Tama in his right eye, Ryuki has access to a variety of cool sci fi abilities I don’t think it makes sense for him to have without her (access to the internet, the ability to make calls or up his reaction speed, etc). Still I think his eye has some limited functionality without an ai helping, mainly an X-ray, zoom, and heat sensing function.
He also has the ability to Wink Psync, where he can shoot a bunch of nanomachines(?) to put someone to sleep (?) and quickly psync into their dream (read their mind) to see whats happening…but I don’t think he could access that function without Tama, so don’t worry about it.

Lost memory #1: Ryuki will forget he had a panic attack and shot a civilian at 23 (the guy lived, thank god). This is a pretty unpleasant memory, so actually his self opinion and confidence will be slightly higher without it.
Lost memory #2: Ryuki will forget he told Tama why he betrayed his mentor Date, something that will make him feel more alone in his betrayal, and also serve to further the delusion brought about by the altered memory.
Altered memory: Tearers identity - Ryuki will have the mistaken belief that the culprit of the half body serial killings was his long dead brother. It’s an impossibility he would have difficulty accepting, but this kind of memory would cause a pretty serious mental strain, enough for him to maintain his “I’m 23 and the case hasn’t been solved and everything is fine!!” mentality beyond just his initial reaction.
